Dropping in on friends

Dropping in on friends for a cup of something hot with the opportunity to chat is a comfort to us all at some point during our day. To be made to feel warm and welcome is a bonus.

The community of people who meet at our Centre enjoy all of this and more. They enjoy mutual support, share experiences of living with MS, take opportunities to invest in their futures and develop strength and hope. They have taken control of their illness and are dealing with it through personal choices.

Therapeutic support and information

Therapeutic support and information about MS is widely available to those who visit us. In the comfort of your day with us a balance between the two can be gained through a personalised/tailored package determined by you. You can expend energy through physiotherapy, tai chi or yoga, and/or alternatively you can relax in the comfort of holistic and/or beauty therapies. With these and other therapeutic add-ons you can still have time to visit the “info point” (launched in collaboration with the MS Society and the MS Trust) and access up to date information through the latest technology with or without volunteer support.

We invite you to come and see and try for yourself all that we have to offer. Come and make new friends, enjoy physical activity and take a break in our Café and “info point”; be assured that you will feel safe, secure and well looked after in this professional environment. There is something for everyone, whether newly diagnosed or living with MS over many years. We look forward to welcoming you into our self supporting community of people with and affected by MS.

  • We are not directly linked to the MS Society, but do liase with their branches in our area.
  • We aim to serve people in Cheshire, North Wales, Wirral and Merseyside.
  • We are regulated by Healthcare Inspectorate Wales under the terms of the Care Standards Act.

MS 6 Mile Challenge 2010

The day for the Challenge finally arrived on Saturday 3rd July, when 6 teams set off from base camp in Capel Curig to undertake the gruelling 6 mile course around local forestry commission land. Determined teams, carrying a member of the MS Support Centre in a specially adapted wheelchair, took between 2 and 5 hours to complete the course and should all be congratulated for their magnificent efforts. Funds raised through the event are yet to be calculated, but should be in excess of £8,000 which will be a wonderful boost for the centre. In particular we like to say a big thank you to Keith Edmondson, who is our supporter of the month. Keith was one of the passengers in the Challenge and  has secured over £1,000 in pledges for his team. Thank you to ALL the teams who took part – and we look forward to seeing you all there again next year!

Please find the full video on our website by clicking here, or you can click here to catch a shorther version on YouTube. And if this inspires you to enter a team for next year’s event then contact Jane Johnston Cree on 01244 678619 or by email at mssupport@btinternet.com
