MS Support Centre Directors Lunch

The second “Directors Lunch” was held in Restaurant 1539 at Chester Race Course.  Senior local business people were invited to join colleagues from the Centre for lunch, and by coming along they were able to both network with other businesses whilst also showing their support for the MS Support Centre.

Guests came from a range of local businesses, and included representatives from Big Storage, AGS Securities Ltd, Hargreaves & Woods, Giles Insurance, Brymau Estates, Power Solutions, Polymorph, Mail Boxes etc, Set your sites, Handelsbanken, DTM Legal, i7 Technologies and McLintocks.  We were also delighted to welcome back Overseas Properties 4u, and also introduced the Centre to representatives from Manchester City Football Club.  The guest speaker was Sir Bill Taylor, former head of Blackburn and Darwen Council, who talked about partnership working between the private, voluntary and statutory sectors, and promoted the concept of corporate social responsibility.  The event was sponsored by Thomas Cole Solutions and supported by the Best of Chester.

During the lunch Neil Kemsley, Chair of the MS Support Centre, commented that “events like this are so powerful because they allow us to reach out to a totally different sector of the community and in doing so find ways to help each other”.

It was another successful event, and we hope to hold our next “Directors Lunch” in March 2010.
